New Vacancy: Club Coach & Development Officer at GCST

We are excited to announce that GCST is seeking to appoint a Club Coach & Development Officer, working collaboratively with our partner organisations to grow athletics opportunities across the region.


About the role


In partnership with Scottish Athletics, Falkirk Victoria Harriers and Forth Valley Flyers, this post offers the successful candidate the chance to make a real difference. You will be based at Grangemouth Stadium (FK3 0EE) and take the lead on coordinating, coaching and developing grassroots athletics programmes across our clubs.


Working 15 hours per week (with the possibility of hours increasing in future) you will run weekly “Run, Push, Jump & Throw” sessions, increase junior membership, support volunteers, club committees and coaching development, and help build sustainable pathways from newcomers into club-athletics.

GCST is a charitable organisation focused on transforming Grangemouth Stadium into a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable hub for athletics and community sport. Falkirk Victoria Harriers brings a proud tradition of competitive athletics since 1901, while Forth Valley Flyers specialise in inclusive athletics for young people (10+) and adults with physical, learning or sensory disabilities, drawing members across Falkirk, Clackmannanshire, Stirling and beyond.


Your profile


We’re looking for someone enthusiastic and motivated, with a passion for athletics and community sport. You should enjoy working with people of all ages and abilities, have strong communication/organisation skills, be comfortable leading sessions and coordinating volunteers, and ideally have some coaching or sports-development experience. Most importantly, you should be committed to creating inclusive, fun and competitive opportunities for all.


Details at a glance


  • Role: Club Coach & Development Officer (15 hours/week, fixed term 18 months)

  • Salary: £10,920 per annum (equivalent)

  • Hours: Evenings + occasional weekends required.
